Adam Webb

Assistant Manager

Adam Webbis a Cost Lawyers/Cost Draftsmen at Cost Law Services working in City of London office

Profile

I have been working in legal costs for 18 years dealing with publicly funded and inter partes matters.

I began my career in costs in 2004, taking up a position in the in-house costs department with one of the largest firm of Solicitors in North Wales. I gained experience in a variety of work, particularly public law children proceedings, personal injury, Court of Protection, mental health and Magistrates and Crown Court criminal matters. I subsequently spent 2 years in Chester as a costs consultant, before returning to North Wales as the in-house costs manager at the firm where I started my career. The role gave me the opportunity to focus on higher value cases and I gained experience in costs budgeting and high costs case planning, as well as training junior members of staff and liaising with the Legal Aid Agency during audits. In 2020 I was fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to join Costs Law Services as a Consultant Costs Lawyer and have since been appointed as an assistant manager, focussing on Legal Aid High Costs Case Plans.

My experience working as both an in house costs draftsman and as an external consultant has given me an invaluable insight into the commercial realities of the legal services industry, and the importance of high quality costs drafting in maintaining the profitability of Solicitors’ practices in an increasingly competitive market.

Education

I graduated from John Moores University with an LL.B Law degree in 2002 before obtaining my Legal Practising Certificate from the College of Law in Chester in 2003. I qualified as a Costs Lawyer in 2011.

Interests

In my free time I enjoy watching football and cricket, spending time in the garden and running and walking in the North Wales countryside.
