Throughout Sophie’s employment as a Costs Draftsman, her tenacious and proactive approach has resulted in numerous favourable settlements for her clients. Her excellent organisational and time management skills have provided her with a platform to manage files from start to finish following the conclusion of the claim.
She graduated from University with a 2.1 degree in Criminology and became a Care Coordinator within a drug and alcohol service whom provided support for people suffering with addiction.
Sophie joined Cost Law Services Limited in September 2017, having previously worked as a Law Costs Draftsman for several reputable costs firms and her last role was within a small firm of Solicitors on the outskirts of London.
Subsequently Sophie decided to embark on a new career in costing, during her legal costs career she has obtained extensive experience dealing with all types of contentious costs issues. In particular preparing Bills of Costs, Statement of Costs, dealing with Publically Funded Claims, Replies to Points of Dispute, negotiating settlement on behalf of both the receiving and paying party and setting matters down for assessment. Sophie also has experience in the preparation of Costs Budgets and the negotiations involved with the same.
Outside of work Sophie has a keen interest in charity work, she has recently organised and completed a charity walk up Mount Snowdon and she collectively raised £4,540.00 with her previous colleagues for various charities. She also enjoys baking and spending time with her family.
