During Karen’s employment as a Costs Draftsman, her considered and managed approach has resulted in favourable settlements, for her clients this is combined with her ability to deal with a matter from “cradle to grave”, giving clients the reassurance that all issues can be dealt with, within a timely and professional manner.


Karen had a wealth of experience having been in costs for over 30 years, she has seen many changes over that time in relation to the drafting of Bills of Cost, and has the ability to draw on that knowledge when providing advice both to colleagues and fee earners alike.


Karen joined Cost Law Services Limited in March 2018, having previously worked as a Law Costs Draftsman for one company for over 30 years a small firm of Solicitors on the outskirts of London.

Karen has obtained extensive experience dealing with all types of contentious costs issues. In particular preparing Bills of Costs, dealing with Publically Funded Claims, the include private law matters (children, financial and domestic violence), care proceedings (to include extensive and detailed Case Plans) Judicial Review and Housing Matters,Replies to Points of Dispute, negotiating settlement on behalf of the receiving party and setting matters down for assessment.


Outside of work Karen has a keen interest in gardening, socialising, travelling, reading and she also enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Karen prides herself in having a friendly demeanour and a professional manner.
